Blues Breaker
Released in early 2011 (digital only) on EMBEATS RECORDS and remixed by ANDY MAC, the man behind the label and co founder & regular host on POINT BLANK RADIO, one of London's most popular internet based dance music stations. This tune, a departure from breaks for Cakeboy, is an unusual mix of pumping house beats and an 8 bar Blues b-line & rare 1960s vocal sample which somehow works very effectively.

Have It & Eat It
Cakeboy's Debut CD album released June 2006 on Bristol's CUP OF TEA RECORDS. A quirky collection of original tracks & cheeky bootlegs. Unfortunately the label folded during the promo period and very few copies actually reached the music store shelves. Cakeboy, much disgruntled by said label's indifferent attitude to the whole affair, convinced the distributers to hand all the albums back to him so at least he could save them from the incinerator & give them away at future events. They are all out there somewhere ;0)
Big N Bouncy
This Big Beat, comical ode to breasts everywhere featured on ETHNOMIXICOLOGY, a mix album by THE OUTERNATIONALISTS (Aka DJs Phil Medley and Simon Emmerson of AFRO CELT SOUNDSYSTEM fame) and was released worldwide in 2001 on San Fransisco's SIX DEGEES RECORDS. An unusual choice of tune in a compilation of World music but was chosen for it's very 'Englishness' and in fact stood out enough to be mentioned in almost every review of this release, gaining Cakeboy a new fanbase in the USA and beyond.

Top banana / Bovine beats
Cakeboy's very first 12" vinyl release in 2000 on Brighton's SONIC TONIC label. TOP BANANA is a quirky breakbeat-meets-metal stomper but it was the b-side, BOVINE BEATS featuring an infamous sample of Alan Partrigde which was favoured by most and gained the release airplay on Radio1 as well as a No.4 position in DJ MAGAZINE's Breaks Chart.

CAKEBOY vs SLIPKNOT - The Blister Bootleg
One of CAKEBOY's occasional excursions in Drum N Bass and a massive hats-off the the undisputed Gods of Nu Metal, SLIPKNOT. 'The Bister Exists' from their 3rd studio album 'The Subliminal Verses' lends itself perfectly to the genre. This bootleg remix is still the most listened/downloaded on Cakeboy's Soundcloud and regularly gets feedback from all Four corners of the globe.. Get it free here!

Biography
Producer Paul Croley has been making noise since the tender age of Fifteen. After 10 Years playing drums in an avant-garde metal band, then training as a studio & live sound engineer, he began writing music under the CAKEBOY moniker. Inspired by Brighton’s emerging Big Beat scene he bought some studio kit and began making tunes which combined electronic dance with his roots in rock & injected it all with a healthy dose of humour. What followed was a constant stream of DIY mini albums, all brimming with ideas and fearlessly straddling genres, which he released/gave away wherever he went. Before long he was persuaded by a local promoter to take it to the stage & was soon well received by Brighton’s clubbing population. Over the next few Years he began turning up at festivals, entire studio under his arm, and performing his own material wherever he could blag a slot. News spread of his exciting live set and kooky stage antics (often involving the messy business of launching gateaux into the crowd!) and soon was playing bigger & better events. Joined in 2000 by VJ Doublethink, the Cakeboy show became an audio/visual extravaganza. In 2004 they took the title of best dance act in Glastonbury Festival’s first ever ‘Emerging Talent Contest’, performed in the main Dance Arena & have been back every Year since. They have also become regulars at many other UK festivals including Secret Garden Party, Shambala, Electric Picnic, Guilfest & more.
After several single releases & his debut album in 2005, Cakeboy has found a new home with forward thinking MUTATE RECORDS.. who understand and support his desire not to be tied to one style and to do what he wants.. with the reassurance that whatever he turns out, you’ll be able to dance to it!
These days Cakeboy DJs as well as performing live, but wishing to keep the live feel, has chosen to use Ableton software & midi controllers over turntables, allowing him to mix genres in impossible ways as well as dropping in all those on-the-fly cheeky edits, samples and FX he loves so much.
